ELESGO® - the story
1994-2011 pioneering work for your well being, simply unique
ELESGO® is a cutting-edge technology and a high-quality product from DTS (Dammers-Taubert-System surfaces). DTS GmbH was established in 1994.
A critical factor in the establishment of the company was the bold idea of producing laminates which would be extremely hard and durable, which had to correspond to the environmental requirements of the time and furthermore which would be able to be covered as a roll material. As a result, the first working title "glass from the roll" came into being.
Later the name ELESGO® was created and registered internationally as the term for this new technology. In order to realise his ideas, Dirk Dammers from our partner DTS, looked for suitable solutions all over the world. Wilhelm Taubert, the other partner and managing director of DTS-Systemoberflächen GmbH, has been working on the technology of electron beam cross linking since the 70s and has since become a recognised specialist in the field of electron beam hardening of acrylate resins. At the end of the 80s, he developed a method with which it was possible to produce decorative surfaces using this technology, which were significantly superior to previously available surfaces in many characteristics. With the help of these new methods, for the first time it was possible to manufacture multi-layer surfaces in a single work process, in a manner which is environmentally friendly and which saves energy without the use of solvents.
With this technology as a basis and the idea of "glass from the roll", together Dirk Dammers and Wilhelm Taubert now began preparation to achieve their ambitions goals. The first laboratory plant was opened in Oberhausen and was continuously further researched and invested into. In 1997, in Möckern near Magdeburg, a completely new production premises was opened in order to realise the growing requirements as well as further development steps in industrial mass production.
Both the technical properties such as scratch and abrasion resistance as well as the visual and haptic characteristics were able to be considerably improved using this technology. Under the brand name ELESGO®, which meanwhile also gained a high degree of recognition beyond the experts, several million square metres of ELESGO® surfaces are produced at these premises with over 50 employees on 3 electron beam systems. The qualities produced by DTS-Systemoberflächen GmbH for laminate floors based on wooden composite, are used exclusively for the ELESGO® floor manufacturing of the company HDM Holz-Dammers-Moers.
Similarly the surfaces are used exclusively in the range of wall and ceiling panels.
